The Montenegrin Orthodox Church cancels negotiations with the Government of Montenegro
The Montenegrin Orthodox Church (MOC) cancels the negotiations with the Government of Montenegro on the fundamental contract (agreement) that was scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11 a.m., in the Government building. Because the Church was offended by the Government attitude towards His Holiness the Archbishop of Cetinje and the Metropolitan of Montenegro, Mr. Mihailo and the entire Church. Instead of the President, Mr. Abazović and the Minister of Justice, Mr. Kovač, as agreed, the Government delegated two lower officials from the Ministry and the Government for negotiations, and moved the meeting place from the Government building to the Ministry of Justice building. The Montenegrin Orthodox Church considers that act of the Government as mocking and directed against the authority of His Holiness Mr. Mihailo and the dignity of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, which is why it is canceling the negotiations.
Vice-president of the Council of the Metropolitan MOC,
Stevo Vučinić
