Letters from His Beatitude Montenegrin Metropolitan Mihailo to Montenegro Ministers
You can read transcripts and scanned copies of the letters from His Beatitude Montenegrin Metropolitan Mihailo to Montenegro Ministers Ibrahimović and Azemović in the following lines.
MONTENEGRO
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Minister Ervin Ibrahimović, M.A.I am writing to you on behalf of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church regarding the serious allegations we have made public regarding the activities of layman Bojan Bojović. Namely, we believe that his continuous collection of donations, allegedly on behalf of our church, constitutes abuse and fraud, as he has been excluded for a year and a half.
As we have publicly announced, not a single cent collected in this way has been paid into the official bank account of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church. Such actions not only do not contribute to our fight for full recognition and autocephaly, but also further complicate it and damage our reputation.
We are particularly concerned about the donation campaign carried out in the United States of America, which we believe will also be the subject of legal proceedings. Given the seriousness of the situation and the potential consequences for our immigration community, we kindly ask you to allow us to receive you urgently.
At this meeting, we would like to present our arguments and evidence in more detail, as well as discuss possible steps that the Ministry can take to protect the interests of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church and our believers in the diaspora.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and await your positive response.
With respect,
Archbishop of Cetinje and
Metropolitan of Montenegro
